SANUK THE BLACK

Our new life in South Africa brought new pets, too. We had left the birds behind with friends as the travel and quarantine would probably have been too much for them. With the run of the whole big house we decided that some cats and a dog would be in order here. Friends recommended that we get a BLACK dog, as added deterrent to burglers (supposedly, black people are afraid of black dogs...), but I don't think little Sanuk was much of a threat to anybody other than our maid- he was just a cutesey little bundle that soon answered to the thoughtful name of what in the Thai language means the pursuit of happiness...
