BAD DUERKHEIM AND THE LORELEY

On the way back we visited the "Wine Town" of Bad Duerkheim - famous for good wine, good food, and rowdy tourists (because of too much wine...). It's a very traditional old German town with timber-frame slated buildings and tiny alleys but struck us as too crowded and with way too much kitsch in the shop windows. We enjoyed a visit to the Museum for Mechanical Musical Instruments and the "Loreley" - a bronze sculpture to commemorate the tragic figure that according to local song and lore lured many a boat to its demise on the sharp rock formation that juts out into the river just below the town.

All cardstock from TSBH; patterned paper was a Christmas gift.
